The 2018 – 2019 CFA Institute Research Challenge has been a memorable event, as a team representing CFA Association Russia became the EMEA Regional champions in Zurich. Apart from the students, who shined bright during the final, it was the hard work and commitment of all the volunteers who helped to organize the local stage of the Research Challenge competition.

On June 14, CFA Russia held a social event at the Totibadze art gallery to thank all the volunteers involved in the Research Challenge. The event gathered industry mentors, judges, graders and a few faculty advisers, as well as the students from Moscow State University and the Higher School of Economics, the two teams that represented CFA Russia in Zurich.

The evening featured a presentation by Marina Tsurtsumia, the director of Totibadze Gallery, who told the guests about the paintings of Denis Rusakov, an artist from a small Siberian town, who works in the mockumentary style and portrays the life in rural Russia. 

Following the presentation, the event smoothly turned into a casual networking session during which the guests had an opportunity to get to know each other over a few glasses of red wine and cheese
