The first Moscow International Finance Week (Mosinterfin) was held in Moscow on October 18-21, 2011. Organized by International Financier's Guild, City & Financial Global Limited, AK & M Information Agency, Company A&A, with the support of Ministry of Finance of Russian Federation, the Forum has proven its relevance and made a remarkable appearance positioning itself as a new international discussion venue to search for consolidated approaches and solutions meeting today’s economic challenges.

Nitin Mehta, CFA Institute EMEA Managing Director, was invited to the forun by Alexey Kudrin, International Financier's Guild's President.

In his presentation about Russia's opportunities of becoming International Financial Center, Nitin stated, that "There are several prerequisites for the forming of the International Financial Center in Russia. These are: business environment, infrastructure, and people. The latter is among the most important, and different groups of market participants - educators, regulators and employers. It is important that regulators improve professional certification requirements for financial professionals, and that employers request professional qualifications from their employees."

The topic of establishing International Financial Center in Moscow was diccussed and supported by a number of respected speakers, such as Thomas Mirow, the EBRD President, Dmitry Pankin, the head of the Federal Financial Markets Service, Anatoly Aksakov, the president of the Association of Regional Banks of Russia, Sergey Vasiliev, the vice-president of Vnesheconombank, Ruben Aganbegyan, the head of MICEX and RTS, and others. TheForum is plnned to become an annual event gathering world leaders of the business and finance community, analysts, experts, and representatives of the public authorities.
