Last Thursday 11th of October CFA Institute in cooperation with CFA UK hosted a Careers in Investment Open Day in London.

For the first time this event was livestreamed via internet and was available for members of CFA community all over Europe and Russia.

CFA Russia organized Careers in Investment Open Day at the Higher School of Economics where a number of students and young professionals were able to participate in this event by watching livestreamed presentation and asking the questions to the recruitment representatives of major financial institutions.

The event was designed for final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students with an interest in investment to find out more about working in the industry, and of course, the CFA Program. Graduate recruiters from some of the industry’s top firms (Goldman Sachs, Barclays Wealth, Blackrock, JP Morgan, Standard Chartered, Towers Watson and Cambridge Associates) have taken delegates through what they’re looking for from the next generation of investment professionals. As well as a presentation about CFA Program, a panel of charterholders took questions about how they found the experience, and how it had benefitted their career. In addition to a headhunter presentation on the latest hiring trends, online viewers also had exclusive access to two online interviews with representatives from Barclays Wealth and Blackrock.

Over 300 UK students were expected at the live event in London. Meanwhile around 400 students from across Europe have registered for the livestream, with a further group joining CFA Russia for a screening event at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow.
