On the frozen Friday morning of December 14th, CFA Association (Russia) welcomed on behalf of the CFA Institute eighty five new Chartered Financial Analysts, representing Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belorussia, United Kingdom, France and USA. The new charterholders completed a long journey that spanned over three years of hard work, self-development, professional growth and ultimate success. The CFA Association (Russia) accepted its new members with great honour and awe.

CFA Association (Russia) currently counts over 460 members with professional backgrounds in investment, commercial and retail banking, consultancy, investment companies, mutual funds as well as government and academic spheres.

The Award Ceremony was combined with the traditional CFA Russia Business Breakfast event at the Moscow’s fashionable “Dantes” Restaurant. The new CFAs had an opportunity to hear a welcoming speech by Neil Withers, CFA, member of CFA Russia’s Board of Directors and one of the most senior CFA charterholders in Russia. Neil Withers received his Chartered Financial Analyst certificate back in 1976, when there were less than 10,000 charterholders worldwide, compared to today’s 100,000+ membership. He spoke about historical changes in the industry, the importance of the CFA qualification in the present times, and the responsibility of charterholders to their clients, colleagues and community.

Vladimir Tutkevich, Director of CFA Association (Russia) also congratulated new CFAs and presented the various aspects of how CFA charterholders can benefit most from their CFA Institute and CFA Russia memberships. Vladimir spoke about the role of CFA Association (Russia) in supporting the local community of financial analysts, the events organised by the Association and opportunities for involvement of the new charterholders in Association’s activities.
